As the name suggests, the Patron Saint of our parish is Our Lady.

All the neighbouring schools and parishes were named after male saints, so we decided to honour Jesus’ mother,

The land on which the school was built was once a pine plantation and it was decided to reflect this when naming the school (and later the parish), hence the name “Our Lady of the Pines”.

We celebrate our Parish Feast Day each year on the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  The actual Feast Day is on 15th August which is a Holy Day of Obligation.

When this date falls during the week, we also celebrate this feast at Mass on the Sunday prior.
